After downloading the Bitkey App and activating your Bitkey hardware device with a tap when instructed, you should see it transition from a pulsing white LED to a solid white LED, with instructions to begin scanning a finger.
To scan your fingerprint, using a clean and dry finger, gently place it on the sensor. When the LED turns blue, lift your finger off the sensor and then gently place it back on the sensor. Repeat these steps until you see the green LED which indicates you have successfully completed the fingerprint enrollment. To save your fingerprint enrollment, follow the on-screen prompts and hold your hardware device to the back of your phone until you see a message that confirms it was successfully saved. Make sure you remember what finger you scanned as only that finger will be able to unlock the hardware device and approve transactions.
Tip: If you are having difficulty scanning your fingerprint, try repositioning your finger slightly in between each scan. It usually takes 8-12 scans for the fingerprint reader to capture as much of your fingerprint as possible so that it can create a strong fingerprint record to compare against in future unlocks.
