After downloading the Bitkey app and activating your Bitkey hardware device, you’ll be prompted to enroll a fingerprint. When the device is ready, the LED will change from a pulsing white to a solid white light.
Follow these steps to scan and save your fingerprint:
- Use a clean and dry finger, and gently place it on the sensor.
💡 Tip: Slightly adjust your finger placement between each attempt for a better scan. It typically takes 8–12 scans to complete. - When the LED turns blue, lift your finger off the sensor.
- Place the same finger back on the sensor.
- Repeat this process until the LED turns green, indicating the scan is complete.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to save your fingerprint by holding your hardware device to the back of your phone.
- Wait for the confirmation message that your fingerprint was saved successfully.
⚠️ Important: Only the enrolled fingerprint can unlock your hardware device and approve transactions, so be sure to remember which finger you used.
✅ Recommendation: We recommend enrolling a second fingerprint after setup.
This helps ensure you can still access your device if your primary finger is unavailable (due to injury, dryness, or sensor issues). See How do I add, delete, or update a fingerprint?
