How do I set up a transfer limit?

Transfer without hardware allows you to send transactions using only the Bitkey app—without needing your hardware device for every transaction. To enable this feature, you'll need to set a daily transfer limit.

Any transaction(s) that exceed this daily limit will require hardware device approval.

1. From the Bitkey app Home Screen, tap the settings icon.
2. Tap Transfers.
3. Toggle Transfer without hardware to On.
4. Enter your daily transfer limit amount.
5. Tap Confirm daily limit and approve the change using your hardware device.

To disable Transfer without hardware, return to the same screen and toggle the setting back to Off.

• Transactions over your daily limit will always require hardware approval.
• Transactions that require hardware approval do not count toward your daily limit.
• Your daily transfer limit resets at 3 AM local time (or 4 AM if daylight savings is in effect).

💡 Tip: Notice your daily transfer limit looks different than expected?
If you’ve changed your display currency since setting your transfer limit, the number may appear to fluctuate due to exchange rate changes. This doesn’t affect the actual limit you originally set.

🔐 Security tip:
If your phone is lost while unlocked, and you have Transfer without hardware enabled, someone could send funds up to your transfer limit until you initiate recovery. Once recovery begins, your transfer limit will be automatically disabled for your protection.
