Transfer without hardware, when enabled, allows you to send transactions using only the app. When Transfer without hardware is enabled, you will be asked to set a daily transfer limit and any transaction(s) made that exceed that daily limit will require hardware device approval.
To enable the ability to Transfer without hardware and to set up a transfer limit, follow the steps below:
- From the Bitkey app Home Screen select Settings
- Tap Transfers
- Toggle Transfer without hardware to On
- Enter an amount
- Select Confirm daily limit and approve with your hardware device
To disable Transfer without hardware, toggle Transfer without hardware to Off.
Once you have set a transfer limit, any transaction(s) that cause you to exceed this daily limit will require hardware device approval. Any transactions that require hardware approval will not count towards your daily limit. The amount you have spent against your daily limit resets at 3 am local time (4 am if your local time zone observes daylight savings). Your transfer limit can be updated at any time. Note: If you lose your phone and it was unlocked at the time it was lost / stolen, and you have set up a daily transfer limit, it’s possible that whoever is in possession of your phone can send funds up to your transfer limit until you initiate a recovery request, at which point your transfer limit will be disabled.
