Cloud Health Check is a tool that passively monitors for the presence of a healthy Bitkey backup in a cloud account. You can view the status of your Cloud Health Check directly in your Bitkey app.
Bitkey keeps funds safe by having an encrypted backup of the app’s Mobile Key stored in a cloud account that can be easily used to restore the Bitkey app on a new phone. In order to make sure that protection is always available, the Bitkey app checks for the presence of that backup, both when the app is opened, as well as periodically in the background. Cloud Health Check will notify customers when any problem is detected with that backup, either because it’s missing, out of date, or because there’s an issue connecting to a cloud account to perform that check.
If any issues are detected, Bitkey guides you through a prompt in the app to easily replace a missing backup, or repair a missing connection to a cloud account. If you’d like to confirm the status of your backup’s health, you can always check for it directly on the Home Screen by selecting Settings >
Cloud Backup . Here you’ll find a dashboard confirming a healthy state, or showing any needed actions to get back to a healthy state.
