If you have accepted the invitation to be a Trusted Contact for someone you know and they contact you asking for your help with their recovery, follow the steps below:
- Confirm, preferably over a live form of communication (phone call, or video call) that you are indeed talking to the person you are a Trusted Contact for.
- Open the Bitkey app
- If the app is no longer installed on your phone, you will need to download the app again, and restore your Trusted Contact credentials. Upon opening the app, select More Options >
Be a Trusted Contact which will check your cloud for a backup. Be sure to use the same cloud account that you were using when you accepted the Trusted Contact invite. Once your backup has been found, you will be redirected to the Home Screen.
- If the app is no longer installed on your phone, you will need to download the app again, and restore your Trusted Contact credentials. Upon opening the app, select More Options >
- Go to
Settings
- Select
- Select the name of the person who has asked you for your help as a Trusted Contact.
- Select Help with Recovery
- Confirm how you were contacted by the person asking for your assistance with recovering their wallet
- Enter the Recovery Code they give you
- Select Continue
- You will be redirected back to the Bitkey Home Screen.
