To transfer bitcoin you already have in existing exchange account or in another wallet, or to generate a receive address to receive funds in your Bitkey wallet, follow the steps below:
- From the Bitkey app Home Screen, choose
Receive
- If there are integrated partners in your region, you can select a partner from the list to transfer your bitcoin from, or you can select Another exchange or wallet.
- If you have selected a partner, follow the on-screen instructions provided by the partner to complete your transfer.
- If you have selected Another exchange or wallet, you will be shown a QR code and the corresponding address for your Bitkey wallet that can be shared with others. If the sender is not sure how to send from their wallet/software, they should reach out to the wallet/software provider to get further instructions.
- As soon as the transaction has been broadcast to the blockchain, it will be visible on your Bitkey Home Screen as a pending transaction. See How long will it take for bitcoin to show up in my Bitkey wallet? for more information.
Tip: To protect the privacy of your transactions, it’s recommended that you follow these steps to generate a new address anytime you plan to receive funds. Should you need to manually generate a new address, you can do so by selecting Refresh on the top right of the screen.
