Bitcoin sent to your Bitkey wallet should usually appear as a pending transaction within a few minutes after the sender initiates it. However, Bitkey can only display the transaction once it becomes visible in the Bitcoin mempool.
If the transaction is taking longer than expected to appear, try the following steps:
-
Make sure your Bitkey app is connected to the internet
-
Refresh your transaction history
- Pull down on the Home Screen in the Bitkey app to manually refresh
🔎 Note: Some wallets batch transactions and may delay broadcasting them to the Bitcoin network. In these cases, the transaction will not appear in Bitkey until it is broadcast to the mempool.
- Pull down on the Home Screen in the Bitkey app to manually refresh
-
Confirm the sender used the correct address
-
Check the Bitcoin network using a block explorer
Use a block explorer like mempool.space:- Paste the address you shared with the sender into the search bar
- If no transaction appears, the sender may not have sent the transaction yet, their wallet may not have broadcast it, or there may be an issue with their wallet software
-
Ask the sender for the Transaction ID (TXID)
You can search the TXID in mempool.space or another block explorer to view:- Transaction status
- Number of confirmations
- Destination address
🔎 Note: Funds sent to a Bitkey address created before completing a Delay + Notify recovery can still be accessed.
