🔎 Note: LED indicators apply only to Bitkey without a screen. Bitkey with a screen uses on-device messages and does not use LED signals in the same way.
The LED on your Bitkey hardware device indicates the device's current status. The color and behavior of the light help you understand whether the device is charging, pairing, enrolling a fingerprint, or completing an action.
LED Indicator (when connected to power):
| 🟢 | Green (solid) | Charging is complete. The LED briefly displays solid green before turning off completely. |
| 🟠| Orange (solid) | The device is charging. The LED briefly displays solid orange while charging, then turns off. |
LED Indicator (before pairing with the Bitkey app):
| N/A | No LED / Light | The device is asleep. Touch the fingerprint sensor to wake it up. If the device doesn’t respond, try plugging it in to charge. |
| ⚪ | White (pulsing) | The device is ready to be paired with the Bitkey app. |
| ⚪ | White (solid) | The device is ready to enroll a fingerprint. |
| 🔵 | Blue (quick flash) | A fingerprint read was successful. Lift your finger and scan again until a solid green LED appears. |
| 🟢 | Green (solid) | Fingerprint enrollment is complete. Ready to be saved in the app. |
LED Indicator (after saving a fingerprint):
| N/A | No LED / Light | The device is asleep. Touch the fingerprint sensor to wake it up. If the device doesn’t respond, try plugging it in to charge. |
| ⚪ | White (solid) | The device is awake. |
| 🔴 | Red (quick flash) | The fingerprint read was unsuccessful or didn't match. Try again with the enrolled finger. |
| 🟢 | Green (solid) | The device has been successfully unlocked and is ready to approve actions or will return to sleep after inactivity. |
| 🔵 | Blue (solid) | A firmware update is in progress. When complete, the LED will blink blue three times and the device will lock. |
