The LED on your hardware device is designed to tell you about the current state of your device.
LED (when connected to a power source):
Green, solid |
The Bitkey hardware device LED will briefly display solid green when it completes charging, before the LED turns off completely. |

Orange, solid |
The Bitkey hardware device LED will briefly display solid orange while charging, before the LED turns off completely. |
LED (before completing pairing Bitkey):
N/A | No LED Light | The device is asleep - touch the fingerprint sensor to wake it up! If the device doesn’t wake when touched, try plugging it in to charge. |
White, pulsating | The Bitkey hardware device is ready to be paired with the Bitkey app. | |
White, solid | The Bitkey hardware device is ready to enroll a fingerprint | |
Blue, quick flash | Fingerprint read was successful, lift finger and scan again until a solid green LED appears. | |
Green, solid | Fingerprint enrollment is complete, ready to be saved on the app. |
LED (after saving a fingerprint):
N/A | No LED Light | The device is asleep - touch the FP reader to wake it up! If the device doesn’t wake when touched, try plugging it in to charge. |
White, solid | The device is awake | |
Red, quick flash | Fingerprint read was not successful or not a match, make sure you’re using the paired finger and then lift and try scan again. | |
Green, solid | The hardware device has been unlocked with a successful fingerprint scan. The device is ready to approve additional actions on the app, or return to sleep on its own after being left inactive for a short while. | |
Blue, solid | Firmware update is in progress. When the firmware update has completed, the LED will blink blue three times, and then the device will lock. |
