If your Bitkey device isn’t charging, try the steps below. After each step, plug in your device and allow time for it to begin charging. If the battery is fully drained, this may take several minutes.
Sync your device
- Go to Security hub → Bitkey device → About → Sync device
- Tap your device to your phone
- Check the Last known charge value
If you’re unable to sync (for example, if the battery is too low), move to the next step.
Check your charging setup
- Make sure your charging cable and power adapter are in good condition
- Look for visible damage (bent prongs, frayed wires, loose connectors)
- If anything looks damaged, stop using it and replace it
Use a wall outlet
- Plug the cable and adapter directly into a wall outlet
- If needed, you can also charge your device using a laptop
- Make sure all connections are secure
Test with another device
- Try using the same cable and adapter to charge another device
- If the other device doesn’t charge, the issue is likely with the cable or adapter
- If it does charge, reconnect your Bitkey device
What to expect
When you plug in your Bitkey device, it may take a few minutes before it shows any signs of charging—especially if the battery is fully drained.
If you’re using Bitkey without a screen: the LED may briefly turn orange when connected to power, but this may also take a few minutes if the battery is fully drained
If your device is fully drained, allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes before trying again.
After charging, repeat Step 1 to sync your device again. The Last known charge value should increase.
