When a new firmware version is available for your Bitkey device, you can update it directly from the app.
You’ll see an Update firmware recommendation in the Security hub, along with an orange dot on your Bitkey device tile.
To update your Bitkey
- From the Home screen, tap the
shield icon to open the Security hub.
- Tap Update firmware, or tap your
Bitkey device tile.
- If an update is available, tap Update and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Approve the action using your unlocked Bitkey device:
- Hold your unlocked Bitkey device to your phone.
- If prompted to confirm on your hardware, follow the instructions on your Bitkey screen, then hold it to your phone again to complete verification.
💡 Tip: Keep your Bitkey device and phone in contact the entire time. Moving them apart can interrupt the update—only separate them if the app tells you to. If you’re having trouble connecting, see:
