When a new firmware version is available for the Bitkey hardware, you will see a notification card on the Bitkey app Home Screen that says Device update available. Select the notification card and follow the onscreen prompts to complete the update. Make sure to have your Bitkey hardware device available as it will need to stay in close proximity to your phone in order for the update to successfully complete.
You can also navigate to Settings from the Bitkey app Home Screen and select
Bitkey Device . If a firmware update is available, you will see Update available. Select the Update option and follow the onscreen prompts to complete the update. Tip: We've found the easiest way to successfully complete a device update is to place your Bitkey hardware device on a hard surface and hold your phone over it, in the proper NFC position, until the update completes
