You can buy bitcoin directly through the Bitkey app using one of Bitkey’s integrated exchange partners.
To purchase bitcoin:
- From the Bitkey app Home screen, tap
Buy
- Select the amount of bitcoin you’d like to purchase.
- Review available quotes and choose a partner.
- Verify your receive address (optional). Tap Review on Bitkey or Skip.
If you’re using a Bitkey (without a screen), on-device address verification is not available.- To review your address, hold your unlocked Bitkey device to your phone.
- If prompted to confirm on your hardware, follow the instructions on your Bitkey screen, then hold it to your phone again to complete verification.
💡 Tip: For the strongest protection, compare your receive address at every step — on your Bitkey device, in the app, and on the sender's screen. The further upstream you verify, the better protected you are against tampering.
- You’ll be redirected to your selected partner to complete the purchase. Follow the instructions in the partner’s app or website.
- Once the transaction is complete, your purchased bitcoin will appear in your Bitkey wallet balance.
If your preferred exchange partner isn’t listed, you can still buy bitcoin from them outside the Bitkey app and send it to your wallet.
