Electrum is a software/protocol that allows Bitkey to communicate with the blockchain. This communication enables transactions to be sent/received, and keeps track of previous transactions.
In some instances, customers may want to use their own Electrum servers to communicate directly with the blockchain. Should you wish to use your own Electrum server:
- From the Bitkey app Home Screen select
Settings
- Then select
Custom Electrum Server
- Toggle Custom Electrum Server to On
- Enter your server information and select Save
Note: For security reasons, the Bitkey app requires SSL connections to custom electrum servers. Please configure your servers to communicate with Bitkey via SSL.
If you would like to return to using the Bitkey provided Electrum Server, simply switch the toggle to off.
