An Electrum server allows the Bitkey app to connect to the Bitcoin network. This connection lets you send and receive transactions and track your wallet activity.
By default, Bitkey connects to a trusted server provided by Block. You can choose to connect to your own Electrum server for more privacy, performance, or control.
- Set up a Custom Electrum Server
- From the Bitkey app Home screen, tap the
settings icon.
- Tap
Custom Electrum Server.
- Turn on Custom Electrum Server.
- Enter your server information.
- Tap Save.
⚠️ Important: Bitkey requires a secure (SSL) connection for custom Electrum servers. Make sure your server supports SSL.
To switch back to the default Bitkey server, turn off Custom Electrum Server.
