If the Bitcoin network is congested and your transaction hasn’t confirmed within the expected timeframe, you can pay an additional fee to speed it up. This replaces the original network fee and rebroadcasts the transaction with higher priority.
To speed up a transaction:
- Select the pending transaction you want to speed up.
- In the transaction details, tap
Speed Up.
- Review the updated transaction details and the new fee.
- The updated fee replaces the original network fee.
- Expedited transactions are typically confirmed in ~10 minutes.
- To continue, tap Confirm. To cancel, tap Cancel.
- Approve the action using your unlocked Bitkey device:
- Hold your unlocked Bitkey device to your phone.
If prompted to confirm on your hardware, follow the instructions on your Bitkey screen, then hold it to your phone again to complete verification.
🔎 Note: Speeding up a UTXO consolidation transaction may take longer to show the Success message.
- Once submitted, the updated transaction will be broadcast with a higher priority.
⚠️ Important: Speeding up a transaction always requires approval using your Bitkey device, even if it's below your daily transfer limit.
