These alerts are informational only—they do not approve, or block any security-related actions. Instead, they notify you of important activity so you can take steps to protect your wallet. For example, if an inheritance claim is unintentionally started by a beneficiary, a critical email alert will notify you during the security waiting period—giving you time to act in the Bitkey app before the claim completes. This ensures that if someone attempts to access, recover, or claim your funds—intentionally or by mistake—you’ll have the information you need to respond, as long as you act within the applicable timeframe.
