Cloud Health Check is a feature in Bitkey that monitors the health of the cloud backups saved to your connected cloud account—specifically:
- Your hardware-encrypted App Key backup, used to recover your wallet if you lose your phone
- Your Emergency Exit Kit, which allows you to access your funds if Bitkey or Block becomes unavailable
Bitkey automatically checks both backups every time you open the app and periodically in the background.
If something is missing, out of date, or disconnected (like your cloud account), Bitkey will notify you in the app and guide you through what to do.
🔍 Note: Cloud Health Check is not a recovery method. It helps ensure your cloud backups remain healthy and available—whether they’re needed for recovery or for emergency scenarios where Bitkey or Block may no longer be accessible.
How to check the status of your cloud backups
You can check the status of your cloud backups directly in the Security hub.
To access the Security hub:
In the
tab bar at the bottom of the Home screen, tap the 
shield icon.
In the
From there, you’ll see two relevant tiles:
Cloud Backup — shows the status of your App Key backup
Emergency Exit Kit — shows the status of your Emergency Exit Kit backup
Each tile will display a status dot:
- 🟢 Green dot = your backup is healthy
- 🟠 Orange dot = action is needed (e.g., your backup is missing, outdated, or not connected)
