How do I see the status of my beneficiary?

Your beneficiary must be listed as Active for Inheritance to be set up. To see the status of your beneficiary, follow the steps below:

1. From the Bitkey app Home Screen select Settings
2. Tap Inheritance
3. On the Beneficiaries tab, you will see your beneficiary’s name along with their status:
   • If you are unable to find your beneficiary’s name, then there is no current beneficiary / benefactor relationship. If this doesn’t look right, see Why did the name of my beneficiary / benefactor disappear? To add a beneficiary, see How do I add or remove a beneficiary? 
   • Pending: Your beneficiary has not yet accepted their invitation. To resend the invitation see How do I resend a beneficiary invitation? To cancel the invitation, see How do I add or remove a beneficiary? 
   • Invite expired: Your beneficiary’s invitation expired before they accepted it. You will need to remove them as a beneficiary and add them again. How do I add or remove a beneficiary? for further instructions.
   • Active: Your beneficiary has accepted their invitation and is a current beneficiary.
   • Claim pending and Claim approved: These are claim statuses and mean that you have an active beneficiary that has initiated an inheritance claim. See How do I see the status of an inheritance claim? for additional information.

You can make changes to your beneficiary at any time by following the steps in How do I add or remove a beneficiary?
