If you no longer wish to be a beneficiary, or if you no longer wish to see the name of your benefactor in your wallet after you have initiated the funds transfer, you can remove yourself as a beneficiary by following the steps below:
- From the Bitkey app Home Screen select
Settings
- Tap
Inheritance
- On the Benefactors tab, select Manage next to the benefactor you no longer want to be a beneficiary for.
-
If you do not see your benefactor’s name, then there is no current beneficiary / benefactor relationship and no need to take further action. If this doesn’t look right, see Why did the name of my beneficiary / benefactor disappear?
-
-
Select Remove benefactor and confirm using your hardware device
-
If the status is Active, this will terminate the beneficiary / benefactor relationship.
-
If the status is Claim pending, this will cancel the existing claim and terminate the beneficiary / benefactor relationship.
-
If the status is Claim approved you will only see the Remove benefactor option if you have initiated the transfer of funds to your wallet. If you have not yet initiated the transfer of funds, you will be prompted to Transfer funds. Once you have initiated the funds transfer, repeat the steps above to remove yourself as a beneficiary.
-
Once you have removed your benefactor, you will no longer see their name listed on the Benefactors tab. Your benefactor will receive notification that they no longer have an active beneficiary and they will no longer see your name listed on their Beneficiaries tab as a beneficiary.
