If you’ve used cloud recovery to restore your Bitkey wallet to a new phone, your previous phone may still have access to your wallet, depending on how it was configured.
To protect your wallet — especially if you had Transfer without hardware enabled with a daily transfer limit — you can use the Remove all other devices feature. This limits access on any previously used devices where the Bitkey app was installed.
When you complete this action, Bitkey performs a key rotation and creates a new keyset for your wallet. The Bitkey app will operate normally on your current device, but will switch to limited mode on all others. This means all outgoing transactions, including transfers, will require hardware device approval, even if they didn’t before.
You should use Remove all other devices if:
- You no longer have access to your old phone
- You suspect someone may still have access to a previous phone with Bitkey installed
- You want to ensure that only your current device and hardware are recognized as active parts of your wallet setup
🔎 Note: If you were able to factory reset or fully wipe your old phone, you may not need to use this feature — the Bitkey app and keys would have been erased from that device.
You’ll see the option to Remove all other devices at the end of the cloud recovery process. You can also access it manually by going to:
Bitkey app Home screen > Settings >
