How do I change my security waiting period?

You can change your security waiting period from the default of 7 days to 14 or 30 days in the Bitkey app.

The security waiting period helps protect your wallet by giving you time to recognize and cancel an unauthorized recovery or fingerprint reset. Choosing a longer waiting period gives you more time to respond, but also means you'll need to wait longer when initiating one of these actions yourself.

To update your security waiting period:

1. From the Home screen, tap the shield icon to open the Security hub.
2. Tap Security waiting period.
3. Tap Current period.
4. Choose your preferred waiting period: 7, 14, or 30 days.
5. Approve the action using your unlocked Bitkey device:
   • Hold your unlocked Bitkey device to your phone.
   • If prompted to confirm on your hardware, follow the instructions on your Bitkey screen, then hold it to your phone again to complete verification.

⚠️ Important: Your Bitkey hardware device is required to change your security waiting period.
