If your Bitkey hardware device isn’t recognizing your fingerprint, try the steps below. After each one, attempt to scan your fingerprint again.
- Connect your hardware device to a power source to make sure it has a charge.
- Use the same finger you scanned when setting up your wallet.

Make sure your finger is clean and dry.
Tip: Lotion, cuts, oil, sweat, moisture, and dry skin can all affect fingerprint recognition. Activities like swimming, showering, or exercising may also temporarily affect your fingerprint or how the sensor reads it. - Confirm your hardware device has the latest firmware.
