In order to send bitcoin, you will need a bitcoin address for your recipient. Bitkey allows you to send bitcoin using an alphanumeric address or a QR code.
IMPORTANT: Bitcoin transactions are irreversible. Funds sent to the wrong address cannot be retrieved.
To send bitcoin:
Using an alphanumeric bitcoin address:
- From the Bitkey app Home Screen, choose Send
- Enter the Recipient’s Bitcoin Address and select Continue
- Enter the Amount you want to send and select Continue
- To switch between fiat and bitcoin/sats tap on the ↑↓ arrows in the middle of the screen.
- To send your entire balance, enter the amount of your balance and then select Send Max.
- If you have set a transfer limit and the requested transaction causes you to exceed this limit, a Bitkey device required message will be shown.
- Review the details of your transaction before you continue
Tip: You may want to check the fees, estimated delivery time and double check that you have entered the correct address.
- Select Confirm
- If your transaction pushes you over your daily transfer limit or if you have already exceeded your daily transfer limit, your hardware device will be required to complete the transaction.
Using a QR code:
- From the Bitkey app Home Screen, choose Send
- In the upper right corner, select the option to scan QR code
- Enter the Amount you want to send and select Continue
- To switch between fiat and bitcoin/sats tap on the ↑↓ arrows in the middle of the screen.
- To send your entire balance, enter the amount of your balance and then select Send Max.
- If you have set a transfer limit and the requested transaction causes you to exceed this limit, a Bitkey device required message will be shown.
- Review the details of your transaction before you continue
