If you've opened your Bitkey package, set up the app, paired your hardware device, or added funds to your wallet, you'll need to take a few extra steps before returning your device.
1. Clear all funds from your wallet
Only send funds to a wallet you fully control.

⚠️ Important: Bitkey is a self-custody wallet. Your hardware device holds one of the keys used to access your funds. Even though it’s locked with your fingerprint, you should never return a device that still controls your bitcoin. If you return your device without clearing your funds, they will not be recoverable.

Place your Bitkey in its original packaging (or another secure package), attach the shipping label, and hand it to the carrier.
