After you’ve completed setup and enrolled at least one fingerprint, you’ll need to unlock your Bitkey hardware device with a fingerprint to use it for approvals in the app.
If your fingerprint isn't working and. you're unable to unlock your device, see:

Unlock your device
Touch your enrolled finger to the fingerprint sensor. When your device is unlocked, you’ll see a Ready message on the screen.
If you’re using Bitkey without a screen, a 🟢 green LED indicates the device is unlocked. A 🔴 red LED means the fingerprint wasn’t recognized and the device remains locked.
Lock your device
- From the main screen, tap the
menu at the top of the screen
- Swipe to Lock, then tap it
Your device will also lock automatically:
- After completing an action. If multiple approvals are required, your device will stay unlocked until the final approval is complete
- After a period of inactivity
Bitkey without a screen does not have a lock menu. It will lock automatically after use or after a short period of inactivity. To lock it manually, touch the fingerprint sensor with a finger that isn’t enrolled. The LED will turn 🔴 red when locked.
