How do I check the status of my Inheritance plan?

To confirm that your Inheritance plan is properly set up and that you have an active beneficiary:

1. From Bitkey app Home Screen tap the settings icon
2. Tap Inheritance
3. In the Beneficiaries tab, you'll see the name of your beneficiary and their current status

⚖️ Legal Note: Your Inheritance plan is not considered active until your beneficiary accepts the invitation and you (the benefactor) reopen the Bitkey app to activate the plan. Once both steps are completed, your plan is active and ready for future use.

What the statuses mean:

• No name listed – You don’t currently have a beneficiary assigned

• Pending – Your beneficiary has not yet accepted the invitation and your Inheritance plan is not yet active

• Invite expired – The invitation expired before your beneficiary accepted it
  👉 Remove and re-add the beneficiary to send a new invitation

• Active – Your beneficiary has accepted the invitation and you’ve opened the Bitkey app to activate the plan. Your Inheritance setup is now complete.
• Claim pending / Claim approved – Your active beneficiary has initiated a claim
