Before you begin:
If you only lost your phone, see:
👉 I lost my phone. What should I do?
If you only lost your hardware device, see:
👉 I lost my Bitkey hardware device. What should I do?
If you’ve lost both your phone and your Bitkey hardware device
Losing both can feel overwhelming—but if you’ve set up at least one Recovery Contact and still have access to your cloud account (Google or iCloud), you can recover your wallet.
Â
1. Secure your lost phone
Follow your phone manufacturer’s steps to mark the device as lost and remotely lock it, if possible.
These steps vary depending on your device (iOS or Android).
⚠️ IMPORTANT: If your phone was unlocked when it was lost and you had a daily transfer limit set, someone could send funds up to that limit until you start recovery. Once recovery is started, your transfer limit is automatically disabled.
Â
2. Replace your phone
Your replacement phone must use the same operating system (iOS or Android) as your original device.
Â
3. Order a new Bitkey hardware device
You’ll need a new device to complete recovery.
